Key Requirements
- Financial Proof: Must show a bank balance of at least 500,000 THB (or equivalent) consistently maintained for 3 to 6 months depending on the embassy. Cryptocurrencies and investment portfolios are not accepted.
- Categories:
- Remote Work / Workcation: Must provide an employment contract or portfolio proving you work for a company or clients outside of Thailand.
- Thai Soft Power / Medical: Must have an official acceptance letter for activities like Muay Thai training, Thai cooking courses, or medical treatment. Note: Language schools are generally no longer accepted under the DTV, and activities typically must last at least 6 months to be approved [1.2.1].
- Location: You must be physically outside of Thailand when applying for the DTV.
Visa Rules & Stay
- Validity: 5 years with multiple entries.
- Duration per Entry: Up to 180 days per entry.
- Extensions: Can be extended once per entry for an additional 180 days (allowing up to 360 days without leaving) for a 1,900 THB fee.
- Work Restrictions: You cannot work for Thai employers or have Thai clients. A Thai work permit is prohibited under this visa.
